Getting Started

  • I have started (and failed) more diets in my life than I care to count. I never understood why I wasn't able to lose the weight and keep it off, even though people were constantly telling me "You have to work out." but I was special, I didn't need to work out, I could just diet...FOREVER. Well, I don't have to tell you, that didn't work. After moving in with my husband and having my daughter I had gained almost 100lbs out of nowhere! Ok, we all know that's the denial talking. It took a while. And my pants kept trying to tell me, I just wouldn't listen. Long story short, I got to be 265lbs and the smallest I recall being in my adult life (adult size clothes at least) is about 170 in a size 14. My goal is to be about 140lbs and maybe a size 8. The hardest part was getting started. I have had a few false starts but I'm working on it. I have given myself a 1 year timeline to reach my goal. I am starting a healthy eating lifestyle (not a diet) and have a workout plan that I will get into later. I am sick of feeling tired and depressed. It is my time to change myself and my life for the better.
  • I will be doing weigh-ins each Monday. I am almost at the end of my first week and I have gone to the gym 3 times and made some healthy food choices that I am proud of.
